Matcha is more than any other tea associated with Japan and is the main ingredient in the traditional Japanese tea ceremony. As it can be seen from the picture, Matcha is a finely grinded green tea. When preparing the tea, you whisk Matcha with water and drink it. This way, you consume a considerably larger amount of all the healthy things that tea leaves contain.
Like it is the case with Gyokuro, the tea plants that are used for making Matcha are covered for 2 - 4 weeks before plucking. This increases the content of amino acids and gives the tea a particular and slightly sweet taste.
Matcha is among the most expensive teas. This is why we only sell it in vacuum packed bags where all the delicate taste nuances of this exquisite tea are preserved.
In order to make Matcha in an appropriate size bowl, you should use 2 bamboo measurements/dl, 80°C water and whisk thoroughly.
