Darjeeling First Flush is the seaon's first plucking of fresh buds from the tea plant. During the winter growth pause, the tea accumulates nutrients. Many of these find their way to the fresh new buds when the plant starts growing again in the spring. In terms of taste, a First Flush is a particular experience and it is known as the Champagne of teas. The tea should be enjoyed on its own and as fresh as possible.

Organic First Flush 2025 from SNOWVIEW GARDEN

Experience the very first taste of spring.

This rare First Flush tea is harvested in April 2025 from the organically certified Snowview Garden, located high in the Himalayan foothills. Only the tender top buds and leaves are picked by hand during this short early-spring harvest. The result is a bright, floral, and refreshingly crisp tea – full of life and subtle complexity.

The taste is elegant, fruty and floral.

About First Flush

If you don't know first flush teas, be careful not to let the tea steep for too long! It is a particular tea with quite a special taste and it may get too intense. Start by measuring ½-1 tea measurement/teaspoon tea per cup, use freshly boiled water at approx. 90°C and let the tea steep for 3-4 minutes. From here you can experiment in order to find your favourite dosage and steeping time. The recommended dosage and steeping time will result in a clear, lightly golden-green tea with a delicate flowery and sweet bouquet and a pleasantly rounded taste. Some might prefer a more astringent aftertaste and a full flavour, which can be obtained with a higher dosage and a steeping time of up to 6 minutes. Feel your way! You must always use freshly boiled water, which has cooled off a little.
