Model/Product no.: 7020001

Traditional cast iron teapot. Contains 600 ml. Glazed on the inside. Includes strainer.

Originally, a cast iron teapot was only used as a kettle to boil water on open fire. Today, the pot is glazed on the inside, så it doesn't become rusty. The teapot has a built-in strainer. A cast iron teapot is suitable for brewing tea because it keeps the tea very warm if you remember to pre-heat it.
This type of teapot is generally small because it is meant for you to make tea several times on the same leaves. The tea is put directly into the teapot - water is poured (80-90 degrees with green tea) - the tea steeps for usually 2-3 minutes (with green tea) and all the tea is then served in cups. New water is poured over the leaves and this time the steeping time is longer. With good quality teas you can make tea up to 3 times on the same leaves. The 3 different pots of tea will taste differently and will become milder and softer each time. A tea strainer is included with all our teapots, which means that you can also make tea the usual way.
